Aloes comes from the word Aloeswood, is a type of wood that produces an aromatic scent when infected by mold. Also known as Gaharu in Japan, this wood has a distinct fragrance that is used as incense and perfumes. Prior to the infection, this wood is odorless, and relatively light colored that turns dark as the infection progresses.
